Privacy Policy — SCS School

SCS School is used by teachers and staff of a school that subscribes to the Student Care System. This policy explains what the app collects, why, where it goes, and what it deliberately does not do.
What the app collects, and why

What is stored on your phone
The app keeps your session token, your school code, your school's server address, your employee and school details, and your permissions on the device, so you are not asked to sign in every time you open it. It also keeps your theme choice and your reminder settings.
Your password is never stored. The app keeps only the token the server issues. Signing out deletes the token, and the app then has no access to anything.
Notifications
Reminders in this app are created and scheduled on your own device — a morning reminder if you have not marked yourself in, and an afternoon reminder if no homework has gone out that day. They are switched on or off in Settings. The app does not send you messages from a server, and does not use your notification permission to collect anything.
What the app does not do
- No advertising, and no advertising identifiers.
- No analytics, tracking, profiling or crash-reporting services.
- Nothing is sold, and nothing is shared with any third party for their own purposes.
- No location in the background — only at the moment you tap "Mark me present".
- No contacts, no call logs, no messages, no microphone recording.
- No data is shared between one school and another.
Who else can see the data
The app talks to two places and no others: our school-code directory
(appcode.studentcaresystem.com), which answers with the address of your
school's server and receives only the code you typed; and your school's own server,
which receives everything else. Both are operated for the Student Care System. Your
school's staff can see the records you create, as they could in the school office.
How long data is kept
Records you create — attendance, marks, homework — are kept by your school for as long as the school keeps its records. What the app stores on your phone is kept until you sign out or uninstall the app, both of which remove it from the device.
Children
This app is for school employees. It is not for children, and children do not have accounts on it. Information about students appears in it because teachers need it to do their work, and that information is held by the school under the school's own policies.
Security
Sign-in and everything after it travel over the network to your school's server. Your password is sent to sign you in and is not kept afterwards, by the app or on your device. Access inside the app is limited by the permissions your school grants your account, and the server checks those permissions again on every request.
Your choices
- Location — you can refuse it. Only "Mark me present" stops working; everything else is unaffected.
- Camera and files — you can refuse them. You can still post homework as text.
- Notifications — reminders can be switched off in Settings, or refused outright.
- Everything on the device — sign out, or uninstall.
- Your records at school — ask your school office; they hold and control them.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and the current version is always at this address.
